I posted this look on Instagram on my actual birthday (13th) but a few of you asked for the details of the outfit so I thought I’d pop it on my blog.
This was what I wore to lunch (an odd but delicious combination of mushroom soup, banana cake and a soy cappuccino) and luckily, I managed to hail down a very kind stranger to take this photo for me (life of a blogger, eh?). It was a little windy and definitely very cold but even though I knew I had to wrap up, I still wanted to look slightly more ‘formal’ – I like to dress up, it makes me feel good.
I wore a gorgeous grey cowl neck jumper from Whistles (one that I’d had my eye on for a little while and was lucky to enough to receive as a birthday present), which is super-cosy with a lovely slouchy shape. This Ted Baker wide-lapel wrap coat was perfect to layer over the top, compensating for my exposed knees (which admittedly do get a little cold). My heeled faux-suede shoe boots from H&M were perfect to give me a little height (and allow me a fashionable strut) and I finished the look off with my Mulberry bag, which rarely leaves my arm.
I like the combination of different shades of brown and tan in this outfit. I love matching my acessories sometimes but it’s fun to change it up a bit and explore your chosen colour palette.
Love, Beth xo.
