I’ve never been one to repost images from random corners of the internet; I don’t like using photos that aren’t my own, even if I credit their use.
But, I’ve come to realise that a huge part of blogging or any creative activity is inspiration. How would we be able to create, to grow and to develop if we weren’t inspired by others? It could be those close to us, those we see in magazines or those we ‘follow’ on social media. And it’s not just people – we’re inspired by colours, by taste, by travel and even the weather. These things plant little seeds in our minds, they allow us to imagine our own variations and to form our own thoughts and ideas.
So as I don’t have tumblr (and probably never will) or even Pinterest (something I’m considering after being introduced to it briefly at work recently), I’ve decided I’d like to start incoporating more ‘inspiration’ posts into blogging. Consider it a personal mood board that I’m letting you guys take a peek at.
Right now, I’m totally crushing on blush and nude colour palettes. There’s something so classy, feminine and timeless about the subtleness of such tones and the understatement of quiet colours. Once upon a time, if I didn’t know what to wear, I’d pull something (anything) black out of my wardrobe because you can’t go wrong with monochrome right? Well lately and for the foreseeable future, nudes are my new monochrome. I’d wear nude every day if I could. It’s just that sometimes it isn’t practical, especially when you like chocolate as much as I do …
Anyway, here are some beautiful images I’ve sourced to illustrate my love of blush tones. I’m noting inspiration for Fashion Week, which is only a week away – eek!
Love, Beth xo.
