Happy Friday lovelies! I meant to get this post up before now (last Sunday to be specific) but I’ve just got so much content to share with you, I’ve been a little stressed trying to organise and schedule it all! But I will get there, I promise. And I’m excited – it’s a lovely feeling to have such a variety of posts lined up, each slotting into a different category on the blog.
Anyway, enough rambling. I wanted to share with you a little iPhone-only photo diary from my time in Croatia – a much needed break that flew by far too quickly in a blur of scorching hot days, breathtaking sunsets and exquisite food (including several room service orders in early hours of the morning, because why not?). I love exploring new holiday destinations so it’s rare that I’ll find myself considering a second visit but Dubrovnik truly is a beautiful city and I can say with absolute certainty that I’ll go back (as soon as my bank balance permits me to).
The travel outfit that turned heads. These jeans definitely have more rips than actual denim! Shirt*: Topshop at Westfield Stratford / Jeans & bralet* (similar): Miss Foxy / Espadrilles*: French Connection / Bag* (similar): Jigsaw / Necklace* (custom design): Mi Moneda
How cute is this Ted Baker passport holder* from Flamingo Gifts? I love it!
Because it’s practically obligatory to seek out every Instagrammable corner of the hotel …
Dubrovnik never goes cool, it’s still around 30 degrees at midnight and so unbearably humid. I think I was sweating more when this photo was taken than I ever have in my life – but that’s not a particularly glamorous thing to admit is it?
A moment captured at breakfast with Dad (and his teeny weeny bowl of cereal). This was our “round 1”. We’re not the only ones that have 3 or 4 courses at a buffet breakfast, right?
I love the blue tint in this photo I took just after sunset. It depicts the tranquility of the island perfectly.
I bought my first ever pair of high waisted bikini bottoms just before I went away and I don’t think I’ll ever look back. They’re so comfortable and super flattering on my shape – win win.
How incredible are these hand-painted canvases? I wish I’d had enough money to buy them all!
Banana leaf chips and roasted chickpeas with a light paprika sauce – say no more.
This beautiful sunset canvas is propped up neatly on my bedside table, in perfect view when I open my eyes in the morning. I love collecting souvenirs on my travels.
An outfit I wore to dinner in the heart of Dubrovnik’s Old City. See the full look here.
Room service dessert order for one at 1 o’clock in the morning: a delicious coconut milk crème brûlée with caramelised sugar and assorted fruits.
I splashed out a little and treated myself to a 70-minute hot stone massage. Best. Thing. Ever.
From where I’d rather be writing this post: in room 114 at the Grand Villa Argentina (more on that later) with a tofu Greek-style salad, looking out over the Adriatic Sea.
I was hauled off my sunlounger to snap a photo of Joe mid-dive. The things we do for siblings eh?
Ending breakfast one day with a savoury plate. There’s something strangely refreshing about eating salad and grilled vegetables first thing in a morning.
Outfit post coming soon …
Quinoa, courgette, cucumber and pineapple with a sweet mango dressing – such a gorgeous combination of flavours.
Can you believe that over 7 days, the only photo we have of us together is a grainy, not-particularly-attractive snapchat selfie? I definitely need to take more from now on. Time spent with my little (or not-so-little at over 6ft tall) brother is so rare and special.
A trio of exquisite sorbets: coconut, mango and berry.
Watching the sun go down before our last dinner on the island.
A holiday, whether it’s a mini-break in your home country or a trip overseas, is the perfect time to take a deep breath, to reflect and to unwind. To explore and to discover.
I enjoyed every moment I spent in Croatia and I eagerly await my next little adventure.
Stay tuned for more holiday posts over the next few weeks!
Love, Beth xo.
