Okay I’ll admit it, I have expensive taste. And I genuinely can’t help it; show me an array of clothes from unknown brands and guaranteed I’ll pick out the most expensive items. Don’t get me wrong, high street stores are great at replicating catwalk trends and designer pieces but there’s nothing quite like the ‘real deal’ right? Granted, you might have to save up for a while to afford something you’ve been lusting after but for me, that’s part of the enjoyment. It’s like a reward to myself and always an investment (“you get what you pay for” is true 99% of the time). So I’ve put together a dreamy wishlist in collaboration with Avenue 32 to show you what I’m coveting right now.
I’m really loving minimalism at the moment. Simple, staple pieces with twists of detail; zips, faux leather trims, assymetric hems and interesting textures. Vogue review the trend perfectly here, showing you how simplicity can look effortlessly sophisticated and luxurious. Ripped boyfriend jeans (practically my trademark) and a chunky knit is a go-to combo for that easy, laid-back look (with a touch of LA) and pairing a simple tank top and sleek sweatpants with strappy heels can echo ‘sports luxe’ for night-time.
A predominantly neutral colour palette is key for minimalism but I often opt for a bright lip or colourful accessory, just to add an element of fun to my outfit. What’s your interpretation of the ‘new minimalism’?
