On the one and only occasion that I’ve worn makeup on this holiday so far (I’m embracing bare-faced chic thanks to lightly bronzed skin), my brother and I decided to take a walk in the grounds before dinner, exploring the beautiful gardens, neutral-toned (and highly Instagrammable) stone builidings and breathtaking views of the Adriatic Sea. We’re staying in the most beautiful hotel, originally built in the early 20th century as a private residence (whoever needed this much land, I just can’t imagine) and later converted into luxury accommodation, combining sophisticated interior design with regal, historic architecture. It’s simply stunning – but I’m getting carried away, more on that later …
As the temperatures here never drop below 28/29 degrees, even in the black of night, it’s a struggle to feel comfortable in anything other than a bikini (and that’s not particularly easy either) so I’ve consistently opted for loose and flowing fabrics, billowing styles that hide the gentle perspiration that gathers on every inch of my skin when I step outside. This kimono playsuit was the perfect combination of cool and sophisticated, comfortable enough for a short walk into the Old City and appropriate for a formal dinner by the harbour. Though I did slip a pair of flat sandals in my bag for the walk back, I loved wearing these knee-high gladiators as I sadly don’t get to wear them enough.
I opted for my favourite gold jewellery – a gorgeous rose gold pendant from Mi Moneda and my ‘Across The World’ cocktail ring from Astrid & Miyu; 2 pieces that I wear almost every day due to their timeless sophistication and beauty.
Love, Beth xo.
