This winter, anything oversized and chunky goes. Whether it’s a cosy jumper (see me rave about my favourite of the season here) or in this case, a slouchy knitted dress – it’s a yes from me. Although chunky knits aren’t exactly breaking news when it comes to the colder seasons, this sartorial year has seen the rise of the oversized and slouchy – even the smart tailored suit adopted a relaxed shape, often paired with casual trainers. Billowing slip dresses and skirts arrived in the summer, all with excess fabric and no defined ‘shape’. And as autumn arrived, the theme of shapelessness adopted casual joggers, tent-like coats and knitted dresses. And I’m all for it.
Here I’m wearing a gorgeous Mink Pink knitted dress from Love My Apparel, a luxury online boutique that stocks a variety of designer womenswear collections and whom I was only recently introduced to. As it’s black and oversized, it’s extremely versatile. I’ve worn it with tights and boots, popped a skirt over the top and worn it as a long jumper or like here, with skinny jeans and a pair of killer heels (courtesy of La Moda, whose designs I adore). With an all-black outfit, I opted for neutral accessories; a two-toned scarf from Zara that had my heart at first touch and a new Dune shoulder bag which doubles up as a handy clutch. I love having the option of a long strap, it means I can style it with a whole host of different outfits, both for day and for night.
Love, Beth xo.
