As I’m sure many of you will know, last week I took a 3-day business trip to Budapest, to stay at and review the beautiful Four Seasons Hotel Gresham Palace (more on that later). I have a series of blog posts planned about my trip (get a sneak preview of my stay over on Instagram) but to start with, let’s talk luggage.
Much like my new Michael Kors bag, the iconic red lips suitcase by Lulu Guinness has been on my lust list from a very young age. It was years and years ago when I first spotted it in a magazine, being towed through an airport by a celebrity clad in tight leather trousers and chic oversized sunglasses. I instantly thought it was beautiful. It’s just so glamorous.
So when I was given the opportunity to have my very own (in which I wish I could have placed my hand on the shoulder of my younger self and told her “one day”) to take on my trip, I simply couldn’t resist. In fact, I was almost squealing with excitement when it arrived – as I’m sure those of you that follow me snapchat will remember. It was another ‘pinch me’ moment of 2015 to add to an evergrowing collection.
And it really is beautiful. A glossy hard case covered in three-dimensional lips, complete with 4 spinning wheels and a stylish striped interior. And the size? As you can see from the photos, it’s about half my height and perhaps triple my width. It’s huge. I opted for the largest size and with good reason; I probably pack 3x more than I actually need – and not just because I’m a blogger. Though I had doubts about being able to fill it for a 72-hour trip, an assortment of chunky knits as well as multiple coats, shoes and bags ensured that every inch of space was used. It couldn’t be more perfect.
I have to say, I’d feel glamorous even if I was wearing sweatpants with this suitcase in tow. But with a bit of faux fur and red lipstick? I felt a million dollars. And I had a lot of fun strutting through the streets of Budapest.
Love, Beth xo.
